Only 160,000 copies of Episodes from Liberty City sold
Episodes prove to be of little interest to gamers
Episodes from Liberty City, the boxed version of the two GTA IV DLC packs was described as being one of the ‘heavy hitters of the fourth quarter’. Analyst Michael Pachter even predicted that Episodes from Liberty City could sell 2.25 million copies at launch. However, the figures are considerably less than this.
The expansions sold under 60,000 copies in the first three days, and only 100,000 during the following weeks. The low sale figure could be much higher due to downloads from the Xbox LIVE Marketplace, but Take Two do not reveal these statistics publically. Analyst Pachter also feels the game was not marketed well. According to Pachter, less than half of all gamers bother finishing the original missions, so the new ones in the expansions don’t hold much interest. Regardless of whether the pack sold well or not, Rockstar makes profit. Microsoft paid $50 million to keep the DLC packs exclusive to the Xbox 360, though it appears that the expansions are arriving on Games for Windows LIVE as well.

This is quite strange as it seems to have been marketed very well. I don't think I have seen an advert for a game expansion on the TV so much. I can only assume its because people have purchased them individually.
I am still considering buying this as I love GTA.
